Two days in Busan splits cleanly: the beach city on day one, the old port city on day two. Stay near Seomyeon or Nampo for easy access to both.
Day One: The Coast
Start at Haeundae Beach early — it is Korea's most famous beach and by midday in summer it shows. Walk the sand east to the Mipo harbor end, then loop Dongbaek Island, the wooded peninsula at the west end with a coastal path, the mermaid statue, and the APEC House lookout. It takes about an hour and is the best easy walk in the city.
Lunch in the Haeundae market street behind the beach — the eel restaurants and the milmyeon (Busan's cold wheat noodles) shops are the local picks. In the afternoon, ride the Blueline Park beach train or sky capsule from Mipo to Cheongsapo for the coastal views, then come back for sunset at The Bay 101 in Marine City — the yacht-club complex where the skyline reflects off the water. End the night at Gwangalli Beach, one subway stop away, where the Gwangan Bridge light show plays over the water and the beachfront bars stay open late.
Day Two: The Old Port
Morning at Jagalchi Market — pick a fish downstairs, eat it sliced upstairs. Walk through BIFF Square for a ssiat hotteok, then into Gukje Market's covered lanes for an hour of wandering. After lunch, take the village bus up to Gamcheon Culture Village and spend the afternoon in the hillside alleys — go before 17:00 while the stamp-map route is fully open.
Come down into Nampo-dong for the evening: Lotte Department Store's rooftop park for the harbor view, then dinner in the alleys behind Gwangbok-ro — the dwaeji gukbap (pork soup) restaurants there are the real Busan comfort food. If you have energy left, the night view from the Yongdusan Park Busan Tower is a five-minute walk away.
Logistics
Everything on day two is walkable or one bus ride. Day one needs the subway between Haeundae and Gwangalli — 20 minutes on Line 2.
